Maryland’s Leader in Outpatient Physical Therapy
At VitalStrong Outpatient Rehabilitation, we elevate therapy to help you get back to an active lifestyle. We focus on innovative solutions, offering our clients advanced and cutting-edge equipment to enhance their function and speed up their recovery.
Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill
The body weight supported treadmill uses air pressure technology to let users support some of their body weight (20-100%) while walking. This helps maintain a normal walking pattern, lessens joint and muscle strain, improves heart health, and helps people walk normally sooner after surgery.
Noraxon Treadmill
Pressure treadmills provide detailed data on each step, analyze any part of the foot's bottom surface, and help identify abnormalities in walking patterns.
Game Ready Cryo Compression
Game Ready is a portable system that uses cold compression to treat injuries to muscles and soft tissues. It offers adjustable cold therapy that helps lessen pain, muscle spasms, swelling, and tissue damage. The intermittent compression feature helps control the buildup of edema, enhances lymphatic drainage by ``pumping`` fluid out of the injured area, and stimulates tissue repair, speeding up the healing process.
Tollos Ceiling Mounted Track System and Unloading Harness
Using a harness and overhead track system provides extra support for patients who need consistent help with weight bearing from a therapist during standing activities or walking.
NeuroGym Bungee Mobility Trainer
The Bungee Mobility Trainer, created by a physical therapist, offers an adjustable body weight support system that is highly natural. It allows individuals with limited balance and strength to engage in functional activities, enhancing their self-confidence in a safe, fall-free environment.
Jintronix - Virtual Reality Training System
A mobile virtual reality system is designed to improve functional rehabilitation. It allows patients to engage in assessments, exercises, and games, while also collecting data and providing objective results.
LymphaTouch
The LymphaTouch applies negative pressure to areas of the skin that are swollen or have edema. This pressure lifts the tissues, which opens up the lymph vessels. This opening allows lymph fluid to return to the proper channels, reducing pain and improving range of motion.
Biodex Balance Retraining System
This new system includes a balance assessment and a treatment option to enhance balance, muscle tone, and treat various medical conditions. It uses advanced visual and VibroTactile biofeedback to guide patients in maintaining correct posture and balance.
Tran-Sit Car Transfer Simulator
An indoor car transfer simulator provides a safe way to practice getting in and out of a car in a controlled setting. The simulator is on a hydraulic lift that can be raised or lowered to match the height of a patient’s personal vehicle. In addition to getting in and out of the vehicle, occupational therapists can instruct patients on gross motor tasks like opening and closing car doors and fine motor activities such as using the seatbelt.
Keiser Functional Trainer
The Keiser system provides functional strength training with hundreds of exercises on one machine for a full-body workout.
Hawkgrips
Hawkgrips are a set of tools used by physical and occupational therapists during instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization or IASTM. IASTM is a massage technique used to treat soft tissue injuries and increase the range of motion by breaking up scar tissue, reducing swelling, and decreasing pain. The Hawkgrips allow the therapist to reach areas of the body they could not get to with their fingers alone and decreases hand fatigue allowing for a longer, more effective treatment session.
SciFit Recumbent Stepper
StepOne offers a smooth, full-body exercise that is easy to start with low resistance. It is wheelchair accessible and has adjustable arm lengths and handle angles. It also offers customizable programs and records to help users meet their exercise goals. The arm-to-leg movement mimics daily activities such as climbing stairs.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a treatment approach provided by specially trained and certified physical therapists to treat pain and movement issues associated with trigger points. The therapist inserts small, thin needles into the trigger point to relieve pain and increase range of motion at the associated joint.
